One of the best Windows programs I've ever used

Guys, if your running Vista forget the sidebar and download KilpFolio. It's by far the best program I've used in age's and won't be vanishing from my desktop is a hurry.

    Anyone else use it?

    Features:

    * Smallest dashboard: Klips are tiny, so they stay out of your way until you need them.
    * Always up-to-date: New information flows into Klips so you don't have to go looking for it.
    * RSS support: Monitor your favorite RSS feeds on your desktop using Klips.
    * Intelligent sidebars: Place Klips along any screen edges, keeping them always visible, or enable auto-hide for smallest screen usage.
    * Liquid layouts: Klips flow around your desktop as you drag and drop them, making it easy to customize your layout.
    * Alerts: Set desktop alerts for keywords and new articles in any Klip so you are notified as soon as changes occur.
    * Skinnable: Download skins, change colors and adjust fonts.
    * Multi-language: Full unicode support (over 24 languages)

Also, for developers, the klips are easy to build, and fully scriptable.

Looks useful, I'll give it a go when I get my new screen.

I've decided to give this a go after being a bit underwhelmed by the existing Vista gagets, looks good so far, I particularly like the Youtube add-on!

I've used this before and it is a very very good program to have running. It seems to have expanded a lot since I used it which was a number of years ago now.

That just scratches the surface, have a detailed look on the site and you will find hundreds of great little plug-ins.

Thanks for that Nick, it looks very handy! I'm about to download it and give it a whirl. I really like the look of the sidebar in Vista but unfortunately the good sidebar gadgets are few and far between. I'm sure given time there will be some great additions for it, but that certainly isn't the case right now. KlipFolio looks like a more than worthy alternative in the meantime!

Another Windows program I'd recommend is RocketDock, it provides a dock near identical to that available on Macs. On the iMac, I find it really difficult to get used to just using a dock alone so on Vista having the Start Menu and the RocketDock is a win-win scenario! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised Nick!

It also offers the ability to minimize programs directly to the dock, similar to a Mac. Personally though, I can't stand that. I've got to have my running programs on the task bar.

My main use for RocketDock is shortcuts, I have it at the top of my screen with all my most used links: browser, mail, contacts, calendar, media player, documents, music, recycle bin etc. Comes in handy!
