    Vista N00b question.

I'm sure this is dead easy.

Lets say that I nip to somewhere like photobucket, and I decide to upload some photos. I get the box that pops up to browse with (just like in XP), only on the left, there is a list of places to look, but I am unable to find my network, as all my pictures are stored on the other PC.

The network is working and I can share files between the two, but I cant find how to access it from that particular box.

Can do screenies if that helps.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks.

Turn network discovery on, on the Vista PC. You should then be able to browse the network to your other PC.

Or you can just type \\PCname\sharename in Windows Explorer, or the start menu, to see the shared folder on your other PC.

Thanks, network discovery is on, and working fine for other things, its just this. As you say, I can enter the location in windows explorer, but its a bit of a ballache, especially as it doesnt remember it for next time. Theres got to be a way, but I cant find it

Have you got file sharing turned on, on the Vista box?

Ah hang on, I think I've got the problem - are you just seeing links in the left-hand pane that are local to the Vista box? If so, click the Folders link at the bottom of the left-hand pane. That should revert it back to the standard Desktop/Computer/Network/Control Panel view.
