installing windows on sata without a floppy?

    Hello,
I'm trying to install windows on my pc, but without a floppy, because i don't have one.
Now, the problem is I can't find the right drivers anywhere!
I bought my pc on eBay and contacting the seller isn't an option right now.
Now on my hdd, i found this pack:
    h**p://rapidshare.com/files/24488700/allDisk.zip.html

I also found this guide on this same forum:
    h**p://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=20748

Now I'm trying to make a custom installation cd, but i don't know what files from that zipped pack, to use with nlite?

This is some info about my system:
    h**p://img503.imageshack.us/img503/1692/hddxb5.jpg
    h**p://img294.imageshack.us/img294/4599/mbtl0.jpg

Can someone tell me what to do please?
Maybe I'm using the wrong drivers or something...
Any help would be appreciated, because I've been searching for a long time for this, and i really need to format this pc.

    Thanks alot!

    Hi,

What motherboard is in your PC & what OS are you trying to install?
Most modern chipsets have native SATA support for single drives so don't require drivers except for RAID use or to enable SATA II advanced features.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750

Most (half decent) BIOS's have the option to run SATA in IDE mode, and if you do suffer issues, that's an option you can fall back on.

The top pack on there seems to include your motherboard's chipset. You don't really need actual Asus drivers to get the thing working, as it is just the chipset you need, so generic drivers will do.

If you really want though, the official Asus drivers are available from their website:

I don't really understand how this will work.
Once i install these, will my computer detect the sata drive when i try to reinstall?
Or do i need to place them into a custom windows installation cd.
right now the problem is that wen i try to reinstall windows, it doesn't detect my SATA hdd...
    Thanks alot!

You'll need to integrate the SATA driver onto your nLite disk - you can find that under the RAID section on the Asus page; no, you're not using RAID, but you ARE using a RAID controller. This'll allow the Windows install to avoid requesting that the driver be installed from a floppy.

You need to unpack them and work them into a custom windows installation cd.

Give my thread a read (the one you already found), but this post in particular:

    http://forums.hexus.net/showpost.php...2&postcount=12

There's a pretty decent guide on nLite's website, starting here:

    http://www.nliteos.com/guide/part1.html

(use the Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 links at the top to move through the guide)

I'll give you a more in-depth guide if you like, just don't have the time to get to it at this moment!

Ok, I did that, and i burned the files with nero as data cd, but it doesn't boot from the cd.
I've tryed with the cd without drivers and it does boot from that one.
Is there any way i can burn on dvd+rw and make it boot from there?
    That was my last cd...
Thanks for all the help !

burning bootable CDs is a black art. you MUST do everything nlite tells you to. you need to be exact and precise in the bootable cd settings bit

Make it an ISO file and nLite will do it all for you, then just burn that to disk
