Hi there, am hoping there is enough experience here before i go and trawl through the Ubuntu forums...
Am running a LiveCD (Its a Fiesty Fawn Herd 5 release) on a laptop, and want to VNC into another computer.
I can sucessfully VNC into it using other machines, so i am comfortable that it's all set up & working correctly.
When i launch VNC viewer in Ubuntu (and/or xtightvncviewer) the app launches correctly, asks for the IP address, then the password (so i know it finds it ok) and then starts to bring up the VNC host's machine correctly. About halfway through drawing the screen in my VNC viewer the whole thing crashes.
Is this an issue with RAM on my laptop (i have 512MB) running out, or is there some other issue that i can tweak?
Cheers
Edit: Additional - now this is wierd. I can sucessfully VNC into my own home PC (WinXP) but the prob I am having is regarding going into a Vista machine. I am very aware is the admin rights whole business, but as stated, i can VNC into the Vista machine from my XP machine, just not the Ubuntu one! Wierd!
