USB devices don't show up in explorer (Vista 32 bit)

I have just noticed something rather weird... (my specs are in my system thingy <---)

Installed Vista Enterprise 32-bit about a month ago and when I did, my USB devices (card reader, USB stick, PSP) and DVD drive all showed up in Explorer and worked fine. All drivers etc are up to date. Suddenly (not sure when exactly it happened as I use desktop shortcuts to my devices) none of these showed up in Explorer, only my hard drives...

I have checked in Computer Management under Storage devices and they are all there and show up as being active, and there aren't any conflicting drive letters (I have changed them round with no effect) and I can access them from Computer Management and through using Run -> T:\, but not through explorer.... weird.

I have tried changing a few drivers back to how they were a month ago, but no effect.

Plugging the devices in doesn't bring up an autorun box (which it did a month ago)

Any ideas about what can be done?

OK, just noticed something weird... when I plug the USB drive in when Media Player or Winamp are open it asks if I want to synchronise my library with the mobile device so it is being autodetected, just not showing up or autonrunning in windows (I have set the USB devices to show a list of possible actions under the autostart options....)

Any idea of what I should look at for this? Services.msc maybe?

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/0...irewire-drive/ perhaps?

I assume as you're running Enterprise you're on a domain - is there any possibility that there could be a group policy preventing the mapping of drive letters to prevent people from taking data from the network?

I have unmapped all drives and there aren't any mapping scripts on the network at the moment... hav also checked in storage manager for this.... strange.
