Just to check... what does running

    ls -l /etc/alternatives/java

    produce?

Also, what happens if you try a blank Firefox profile?

Do you have Azureus on at the same time?

What Firefox plugins do you have installed? Specifically any that have anything to do with Azureus.

I avoided posting in this thread as helping keef247 out normally leads a slanging match/spoon feeding session.

But seeing as he posted this thread on the ubuntu forums and I got abused for not posting the information on this forum and a forum mod had to sort his language out, I thought I'd post the link so that a.) you could see the solution b.) see the way this guy accepts help c.) consider if you want to help in future

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=437519

As I tried to explain in the thread the problem is this
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/otacon/.azureus/plugins/bdcc/status.properties (Permission denied)
    It is Inevitable.....

@keef247. I feel I have got to say this: When you are given advice by the likes of Ikonia, follow it mate. He has probably forgotten more about Linux than you or I know. The answer to your problem is clear as mud from what you have posted and you have been told how to fix it. Read what has been posted. There is no need to insult and or flame when people take the time to help you. Oh, and if the help provided gets you working, then a thank you goes a long way.

I for one have read previous posts of yours on Hexus where you have not taken good advice and then resorted to being abusive, and as a result I have not posted you help. I am sure I am not the only one! With your attitude, I am surprised people are still taking the time to help you.

@Ikonia. Mate, full respect for trying to help him again. I was watching this thread to see if you posted after previous clashes and take my hat off to your (now obviously frayed) patience. But I guess some people can't be polite or thankful for good advice. Thanks from me mate, buds in!
