I just saw my core temps and was slightly worried. I have the SMB version of f@h running now but I don't want it to ruin my processor.

61'C is nothing, my T7200 throttles at 84'C max load and max fan, and idle at 59'C. A bit of undervolting bring max temperature down to 70s range

That's way too hot! It should never throttle...
My 3GHZ Prescott (known for hotness) runs @ 54'C running folding, a C2D should be lower I would have thought
You really should re-seat your heatsink
61'c is fine. But personally I'd get another heatsink. My Prescott was reaching the 60s at full load back on it's stock cooler so I got it a nice new one![]()
I wish I can, I got a whitebook with the CPU warranty sticker on top of the heatpipe. The heatsink is all coper 4x1x1cm dimension with a 4cm blower fan.
It is a really tiny heatsink, so I think it was seated well enough already TBH.
My T7200 eats up about 30W by itself at full load so it is not exactly easy to cool (You don't get Scythe Infinity on laptop you know)
My Presler 4Ghz goes up to 74'C on a CNPS9500-AT, probably drawing 150W on its own.
I didn't know my laptop used to throttle until I tried the TAT 2 weeks ago. Now I just push voltage down to 0.9875V so it run nice and warm.
EDIT: Apparently it got a bit worse now...
That is if I put it on top of my wood table, raise it up 10cm drops down to 75'C

I've got a good cooler on it but I may set it to only use 90% of the CPU usage to cool it down.
I'll let you know if it changes anything.
