Same message as you get when there is no OS on the hard drive (We get it alot at work when silly pople dont know how to formatt their HDD's) If it definatly has NT on it, then it could be a problem with the MBR, try using a boot floppy i you have one

OK, first things first - you don't have a floppy in the drive do you? *Nick ducks for cover* You'll get that error if A: is the first boot device and contains a disk that was formatted from an NT workstation.

If not, then it's a knackered MBR. Run the NT setup on the workstation, choose repair, don't worry about the the ER disk, when it asks you what you want to inspect, uncheck everything except the boot sector/files/whatever (can't recall off the top of my head). It should repair the boot sector and away you go.
