Anyone done any of the new MS certifications yet?.

I'm just brushing up to upgrade myself to the 2005 qualification for sql server and from having gone through the 2000 books i'm amazed at how simple the 2005 book feels in comparision.

Have MS dumbed down the 2005 series of exams in the new certified IT professional setup of learning?.

I've asked a few people at work to look at the exams that have come out for the programming side of MCAD's replacements and they also appear to view the certified IT professional exams which replace the MCP individual assessments as very easy.

Anyone else got any experience from the new exam set?

personally i'd only do them if your company will pay for them or at the very least towards them.

I'm not saying that because i think they've been dumbed down, its just they are a lot of money really and a lot of employers care more about experiance and achivements (if your a student, do the imagine cup, getting as far as i did basically got me my current job!)

But back onto the rant, i was interviewing a MCP'd person and asking him about yukon, he didn't even know the basics about having .net inside it. Granted, that might be the candidate, but it didn't impress me with the MCP

I've got to upgrade my MCDBA to the MCITP some time this year - from a taugh course point of view , they seem to have broken it down into a number of smaller courses , rather than the 2 5 day courses they used to run.

Why are you 'upgrading' yourself TiG?
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
