RDP Concurrent sessions - Memory or CPU ?

I'm running concurrent RDP sessions on a PC using the terminal services hack. 2 connections are ok but when the third connects things start to slow down. None of the sessions are using any heavy duty apps, just a flash based front end called Mainlobby www.cinemaronline.co.uk.

PC isn't the most powerfull in the world (Athlon 3100+ based PC with 1GB RAM). What do you think would make the biggest difference in terms of improved performance, another 1GB Ram or a CPU upgrade ?

    Cheers
    Kevin W.

LAN only, If I have 2 RDP sessions and log on locally I see the same performance drop.

go to the station and look in task manager at what memory is being used.

I think this is a memory issue but to be honest I ran 25 clients in TS with 2 gig of ram and it ran ok. Jst take all the flashy stuff off, no wallpapers etc

...and make sure no one has setup an OpenGL screensaver. Ram will almost certainly improve performance over a CPU increase.

I'd guess Ram too, at work our boxes are restricted to allow a maximum of two sessions (don't know how that's done, I could ask), and they all have a minimum of two gigs of ram.

You can use Terminal services manager to find out who's connected, so if you really need a session and someone's blocking it, you can contact them and ask them to log off (or just boot them off if you have enough privileges).

If you use task manager, and tick the "show processes from all users" box, you can see the huge number of apps and processes that double up for a new session.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

Terminal Services in Remote Admin mode only allows 2 RDP connections , you need to run in application mode to have more than 2

Supposed I should have mentioned this is XP Pro I'm using - not W2K3
No wallpaper, no screensavers just the one application running. I'm thinking memory as well.
