Vista Update and Welcome centre broken

    Hi,

As soon as I install the nvidia drivers windows update and welcome centre stop working (there may be others)

    Chipset Drivers v15.00
    Video Drivers v158.24

If I go to services and stop and restart the Software Licensing service it starts working again.

But after rebooted it stops working again.

Anyone had this and is there a permanent fix?

    TIA

It's actually the hardware analysis tool that breaks(the one that gives you a performance score), but that's loaded in the welcome centre. It doesn't affect anything else as far as I could find. Everything in there is available from elsewhere in the OS.

Mine seemed to fix itself after a while, not sure if this was an update or just luck though sorry.

Thanks for your experiences, not sure whats really the cause it but it does seem consistant with installing the nvidia drivers.

Its strange that windows update doesn't work either until I stop/start that service.

    Anyone else!??!?!

    Solved

Its the creative audio console and nvidia chipset drivers

Just uninstalled the audio console and all is ok again

UPDATE: No it wasn't that, reinstalling Vista now to find out where the problem lyes, hopefully....
