    Defrag

    Hi

I think im in need to do a defrag on my HDD (havnt defraged in a very long time) but when i boot up the windows defrager it doesnt do anything. It wont defrag or even analyse any drives (i have a 36gb and 160gb)

It hasnt seemed to work for a while now ( wasn't too botherd about it before).

Anyone know whats wrong with it? I cant seem to find any help in the troubleshooting section.

Or does anyone knows of a good defrager that doesnt cost much (or anything at all).

    TIA

hit start, run and type "cmd" then press return, in the window that pops up type
    "chkdsk c: /r"
it will offer to do the check on the next boot, click Y and reboot. it may take a couple of hours to complete, but let me know if the defrag works after that.

if it does try it on the other physical drive as well.

    0 & 0 software do a 30 day trial on theres.
