    Lightbulb .avi or mpeg to DVD

    I've taken delivery of a nice new 8x DVD burner this week, and I'd like to be able to convert a pile of mpeg and avi video clips to DVD compatible format.

    I'm sure this is possible, but are there any recommended applications to convert the formats?? (...erm, preferably free ones?? )

    TMpeg enc dvd author has a free trial, very easy to use - worth a look.

    Assuming you have nero or similar dvd writing software you could try virtualdub or dvdshrink (both are free).

    Best place for all these kind of things is http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ they have loads of guides.
