    Dynamic Disk

    What are the advantages of choosing Dynamic Disk over Basic Disk via Disk Management in Vista when considering disk partitioning.

    I'll turn it round , why do you think you need them ?

    if you want to run RAID , buy a proper raid controller.

    I see, so vista dynamic disk is a poorman version of RAID? i understand now, i think.

    it can be used to provide software raid , which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

    QFT.

    It also eats CPU, thou not as much as i would of guessed, i was running a raid-5 whilst i waiting on getting a new raid controller, granted it worked fine, but nothing went wrong it was only running for 2months. The performance difference between this and the proper raid was just plain phenominal. (The cache perhaps?)
