    Windows Live Messanger

    hi,
    Could anyone please tell me if its possible to force Windows Live Messenger to open your email inbox in firefox and if its possible how to do it.

    thanks, is there another way though, i used to use plus and i didn't like it.. if not i'll give it another go

    You can do it by changing a registry value also, although its a global change and changes it for Windows Update etc aswell, so its probably not a great idea, here it is anyways though;

    navigate to the following Registry key...
    Code:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32

    ...and change the current value to:
    Code:
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"  (include the "'s)
    I just tested it, and it works for me, but I dont know if its a wise idea as i've said.

    thank you very much, as for the windows update crap, you can install the firefox extension for that, i think it opens the link in ie if u try to go to windows update.
