I now have my XP OS install on the C; drive, which is a RAID 0, and my data on a RAID 1. I have an image (several) of the C: drive for recovery – if the RAID 0 fails then I simply restore the image and get a ‘fresh install’.
I currently boot off CD to Image / Restore (ShadowProtect). I have a spare SATA hard disk (G: ), and would like to install XP on it to use as a Recovery boot disk.
When I am running normally off the RAID 0 I will use the G: Recovery volume for the system page file (this is currently all it is used for).
Is this simply a matter of booting from the Windows XP CD and installing on the spare drive? And then simply selecting which to boot from by selecting the required drive in the Boot sequence of the BIOS? Seems too easy - almost Mac like! Will this cause any drive letter re-mapping problems?
