Vista driver autoinstall - how to turn off

Vista keeps installing the default driver for my Hauppauge TV card, but I want to install a newer version direct from Hauppauge. How do I stop it autoinstalling ?
    Thanks

Cant you just update the driver over the top of the one it auto installs? Have you tried right clicking it in device manager and actually choosing the option to delete the driver after uninstall?

no, doesnt work well for hauppauge TV cards.

I tried deleting it in Vista but it won't delete as you havewnt got access to delete system files in the System32 directory
