    vista HELP with network

i haven't got a clue wtf is going on.but basically (before it screws up again) I load up vista with pc tools firewall the free one and its setup default bar blocking a few things and firefox with work and so will pidgin. then a minute later or randomly i'll go on a site or pidgin again to sign in and nothing will conect and this page cant be displayed.i'll then have to restart/repair/disagnose the connection about 10times and if im lucky like now it'll work long enough to open google.then half of the links wont work.im not sure if its a virus or not but its ridiculous...!!!! thing is bit torrent will still download in utorrent!
I wouldnt think I'd need ports on firefox etc as never have needed them before on linux or xp pro sp2...
im using a asus a7n8x-x mobo a 2600xp-m overclocked at 2.2ghz and 1gb ram mixed corsair pair.i have a linksys ag241 v2 router which supports 24mb... I did previously change the firmware to some hacked one but it made no difference in xp or linux so i doubt its that.
    any help please

Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

    Re: vista HELP with network

take off PC Tools firewall and see what happens. Sticking my neck out having used Windows firewall for years I've not had any issues.
