What motherboard are you using? JMicron controller by any chance?
Asus M2NPV-VM
Anyone?Please?
If you haven't already, check the DVD-RW's manufacturers web site for any recent firmware updates.
I seem to recall something about vista's installer not recognising some SATA devices properly when there's an IDE device connected as well. Have you got both drives connected at once?
Will do, thanks
Also - is the DVDRW detected in the BIOS? How do you have the RAID setup?
No raid. Trying the Firmware first. Ta
NP - was just wodnering what there was in your BIOS for setting up the 4 SATA ports, and whether it's possible to set it to boot from whatever port the drive is on.
Actually (for clarification) can you confirm if it's just Vista that you can't install from this drive, or if you aren't able to boot from this drive?
Just Vista
I will check out the Bios. Ta
