Is it anymore secure than the basic VNC? I cant seem to find out anywhere!
The reason i ask is that im thinking about rolling it out in our latest build and want to put the most secure version on.

TightVNC is designed/optimised for slower modem connections iirc..

If you're concerned about security between client and server, you need to be looking at some form of 3rd party encryption that you can tunnel VNC through - lots of people use SSH (secure shell) with VNC. TightVNC, as stated, just uses less bandwidth so is better over slow links.Originally Posted by wol

Are you using this for internal Lan usage or across a WAN?
Internal LAN / VPN hence using tightvnc as it uses a bit less bandwidth
