Interestingly enough it works in IE , but not in FF.
Could it be verisigns root Ca not playing properly.

that's the bit that confused me too..
I mean, it's one of those srubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishy-expensive Verisign certs, so it shouldn't really be acting up like this..

ah but if the trusted roots change IP then you have a problem
IE doesn't give that error though.

The root and intermediate certs needed to be replaced..

In generic terms, quite a few pages based on ASP.net don't work in firefox, MSDN forums don't work as they should for one.
I guess it's MS guarding ASP components so people can't make plugins to handle them.
Pity really, it's one of only two reasons I don't attempt to fully remove IE :S
EDIT: Looks like a misread the problem! oh well! Interestingly, I'm not getting any certificate errors in FF
