    Slow booting and shutting down..

If I boot my computer, it takes ages to trough the BIOS, once it passes trough and windows (vista ultimate) actully comes it goes fast. And if I click shut down it takes like 3 minutes untill something happens.

How come this is so slow? How can I speed it up?

In the BIOS there should be an option (perhaps under Boot) to enable fast Boot or POST. This cuts down on the number and duration of the tests.

Re: Slow booting and shutting down..

Oh well, that's one taht didn't work.

I had a delay due to XP looking for an uninstalled ATI driver. After manually hacking a few hundred refs. from the Registry it was a lot quicker.
Try looking for invalid start-up entries. Something like Codestuff Starter might help - doesn't need installing.
