Chaps,
I just need clarification on whether or not I need to apply a new SID every time I restore an image using Acronis TrueImage 10.
I remember doing this when rebuilding workstations using Ghost.
Thanks.

Fairly sure you will. I've been generating new SIDs with Sysprep through force of habit. Just assumed you would have to.
A quick Google search suggests that no new SIDs are generated, so you'll have to do it yourself, either before or after the deployment. If Sysprep does too much and you have identical hardware, NewSID might be a better bet for you. Never used it myself though, as my images are used with all sorts of mismatching hardware.![]()

Thanks mate.
I'll use NewSID instead of sysprep, as the hardware is identical.
Do you know if NewSID works on Vista image restore?
Ah right, no idea on Vista at all, sorry. I doubt it to be honest. How about Sysprep (I assume there's a new one for Vista) without the mini-setup?
We're sticking to XP as we're closing in a couple of years, so no point in moving to Vista.
