WinXP lag time after boot
Hey you all,
I have WinXP with SP1 installed on my machine. Booting as such is fast, but when everthing seems to be up, except for the the antivirus software, it takes about 45 sec, in which there is obivously no activity of the harddrive. In this lag time, some programs can be started, others not. Internet connection will not be initialized. Then, hdd activity starts for about 20 sec, after which the virus scanner is active and the system is ready. Is there any process or service, which blocks the system from going straight into active state? Looking forward to any helpful comments.
