    Re: Adobe Photoshop Help

JPEG doesn't support transparency in any way, shape, or form. JPEG was designed for lousy compression of photographs, it was never intended to be 'for the web'. However, GIF and PNG formats do support transparency, lossless compression, and was designed for use on websites, PNG is a newer, sopped up GIF, so that's what you should use.

    Re: Adobe Photoshop Help

"Save for web" is basically a bunch of options that let you pick what elements you don't mind losing out to compression, since PNG is lossless, it doesn't need to do that, the algorithms will always do their best to compress.
