I wish it was more like BOINC - setting up dual core is SO easy in that program - you just install it - job done! (It then auto starts two processes one for each cpu). Folding SMP is awkward, and that's putting it politely

indeed. It surprises me that they have all these different clients that all run on a PC. i wouldn't have though it would be fairly straight forward to have one little app that then goes off and launches the different cores.

But hey, what do i know?

Unless it's changed in the past month (i had to format and havent gotten back into folding), you have to use the command-line client to do dual-core, and if you want to set it up as a service you have to have a password for your user account (home pc, no need for a password)...

or can you set up a new user account with f@h with a password that works?

think its something i'll investigate today, seems a shame to waste all those cycles

Gentoo's init script is able to launch as many FAH processes as you configure, it could probably be adopted to windows, a batch script could probably approximate the same thing (albeit less graciously).

Re: We'e had 93 CPU/GPU/PS3's on in the last 50 days

I was thinking that, a batch file to launch the exe with "+cpu0" and "+cpu1" or whatever the switch to make it run on each core is should work.

    Ofcourse, I don't know, it's all conjecture!
