Installing the SMP client isn'talways that easy, especially under Vista.

Have a look at the guide on the F@H wiki:

Procedure also works for XP, although not all steps are needed depending on how you already log in etc.

Looks like I shall shall have to read all that first then as I am currently using Vista, saying that if its an issue I shall just reinstall XP as I have a couple of hard drives to fit to the system tonight anyway

Fat_Jez has only sumitted 30 WUs, but they are worth a lot each as the data is more suited to SMP machines. Stream processors like the PS3 and X1900s can only deal with particular folds. SMP and the regular single core clients can handle anything thrown at them.

what he said, with bells on. The Work Units vary on the point score according the type..and X1900's and PS3's are very good at CERTAIN units....but no others.

They go fast, score small points rapidly. The quad core SMP units are mammoth

Core speed is good on Quad's too....Jez's quad is much faster (3.2 I think) than mine (2.67)

I also have a 1.8GHz Core2Duo in my work laptop churning out SMP units too, albeit much more slowly.
