Looking for a mp3 converting application....

I've just bought some CDJ's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDJ) and they dont like VBR MP3's. I have over 800 mp3's which I wish to use on the CDJ's, so I need to convert them to constant bit-rate.

The problem is I don't want to have to sift through each mp3 and change the ones that I find are VBR, I'm looking for a program that I point to a folder and it changes all to about 192 kbps mp3 files.

DBPowerAmp doesn't do this, I thought it would but it will only do a folder at a time, and considering I have 10 folders, each containing another 20+ folders, then those containing maybe 2+ folders, it wont let me do it.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Googling on converting throwws up lots of solutions, many of them costinf money!

This one http://www.nightmedia.net/docs/convertmp3.html descibes a script using lame to do various conversions between files on directories etc. Lame is an excellent MP3 codec.

Tag&Rename will list by bitrate so you could select all those in one section of the list....

Works for me with 60GB MP3s anyway
    Cheers, David

This might be of use to you, http://tunebite.com/en/remove_drm/index.html

It might take a while to process everything but basically it'll re-record your music as a new MP3 file ready for you to use. I've used it before so I could purchase stuff from iTunes without having to buy an iPod so it also has that as a bonus
