UAA (universal audio architecture) hotfix

Am I going insane here?

I've got a Sony Vaio laptop in our workshop that I need the sound driver for. The sony site refers me to the above KB page and tells me to apply the hotfix. Unless I'm very much mistaken I can't see any actual download anywhere. Anyone know what I need to do? Anyone have the software that I need?

google kb888111 and in the first few hits you'll find a link to a downloadable version form somewhere that isn't MS. Thats how I've got it in the past
