Win98 - Will only restart

Hi All

got an old PC, Win98, KT7A, 1.2 TBird. Recently upgraded OS from Win98 FE to SE and now when i try to shut the machine down it will only restart. Ie. you select anything on the shutdown menu and the damn thing will boot itself back up again. Bloody annoying.

Im assuming its something to do with ACPI but im having a brainfart and cant remember how to disable it. Can anyone help?

Try disabling wake on lan/modem in the BIOS.
