    Can I monitor someones bandwidth via IP?

    I'm wanting to monitor a couple of computers on our network as I believe they may be using them to download etc...

    Can I monitor a computers bandwidth remotely? Would ethereal do that kind of thing?

    I assume you're the offical system admin.
    Yes, a packet sniffer such as Wireshark (new name for Ethereal) will do that, you just need to filter the statistics to find the client(s) responsible.
