Where to buy an older version of Photoshop?

My granda is into researching our family tree, he likes to keep a copy of all photos that he comes across and tries to improve older ones. His scanner came with Epson software which isn't really up to the job of enhancing pictures so he has used a trial version of Photoshop.

He really likes it but the price is putting him off so I am wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase an older license? I remember using Photoshop 5.5 and 6 at uni and I bet that would be powerful enough for everything he would use. I don't really want to go on eBay because of all the pirate software but I am sure I've seen before companies who buy old licences from companies and sell them on. Does anyone know where I could find something like this?

    Thanks

It's not Photoshop he needs to try out. He needs to download and try out Paint Shop Pro - Photoshop without the price tag: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli.../1184951547051

Do all you and the entire family will ever need to do, and more.

There is also GIMP, which is free. I've used it a bit, however I have next to no photoshop experience. Anyways you can always download and try it.

    Second Photoshop Ele(phants)

My folks use that for the same purpose, it does all the stuff you need and is a bargain in comparison to full photoshop.

The newest version os about £60 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Photos...0905589&sr=8-1

Looking on amazon, version 6 comes out on the 10th of October, so maybe wait until that one comes out and hope for a price drop or something

If he has .NET, there's Paint.NET that's free.

The GIMP isn't exactly something your Grandpappy could use for touching up a few photos, which is why I hesitated to mention it.
