    Re: Bloody hell we're rocking!

this laptop will be shut down in about 45 mins for the weekend, but will be submitting a WU on Monday morn. The other work box has submitted one in the last 20 mins or so. Hopefully I should have an Opteron rig built and folding over the weekend.

Things are slowing down but a lot higher up the ranks than I was expecting. Anyone know how far off GameOn.co.uk we are?

Sorry fella, got serious issues with MCE2005 at the moment.

So serious infact even microsoft detect it as a "unsupported operating system" when I download the MCE2005 updates to allow the xbox360 to connect.

As such it's yet another format & install session with 10,000 windows updates to apply before I get crunching again.

Experiencing scorching hot... October... weather here at the moment! Might tone down my Q6600 to 3.4 from 3.6 if it keeps up - don't really like seeing it 68-70 on 2 of the cores! But we'll see. Top700 incoming .

OC'd my Quad 2.4 to 3ghz, but need to reinstall XP instead of crappy Vista before I can get it folding again.

    Re: Bloody hell we're rocking!

My Q6600 @ 3.0GHz is fantastic at folding, 8-9 minutes per percentage on most WU's.

It's not yet been a week since I submitted my first WU but I've already got 20,536 points and nearly all of those are from it! I've also got a x1950pro (512MB), but I find that just running the SMP client alone is much better than using the GPU one too.

With the GPU client my w/c loop is much hotter, the SMP client is about twice as slow, my computer tended to be more unresponsive and 330/WU didn't make up for it.

I've also tried the normal client on a laptop (1.6Ghz Dothan) which wasn't too slow but was hot and noisy, my HTPC (3800+ X2) which was surprisingly slow and my server (1700+ @ 2.2Ghz) which got too hot! I'll upgrade the cooling in the server and put a client back on there, and get the HTPC crunching again sometime, but I'm going to leave the laptop without.

I've only just realised the same thing - with the X1900 GPU client running the quadcore SMP was taking around 1 hour per percent!! (Vista) Now that I've reinstalled (XP), and I'm not running the GPU client, the quadcore SMP client is doing 1% every ~12 - 15 minutes or there-abouts
