    Screen orientation problem

I have a dell2407 and a 20" screen and I want to change the screen orientation so I can use the 2407 in portrait mode. I have tried using irotate but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm using a Geforce 7900GS graphics card with both screens connected via DVI. Any suggestions?

    Re: Screen orientation problem

Ah, potentially it may be the two things overriding each other, i know the widget that came with my LG ceased to work after about the 8x drivers. Might be best unistalling it and just using the nvidia one.

    Re: Screen orientation problem

It wasn't working before I installed it. Infact, I installed it because the nvidia ones never worked.

Not sure if it is graphics card specific or not - works on my work computer and I have no idea what the architecture is!

    Re: Screen orientation problem

Thanks for the suggestion but that combination of keys doesn't achieve anything on my set-up. I wonder if it may be a problem with the Max res output of the graphics card and making the 2407 vertical would create a overall resolution that the graphics can not handle. However I have tried decreasing the resolution of the dell monitor and then again tried to change the orientation but again it never changed anything.

    Re: Screen orientation problem

A quick google seatrch found this - not sure if it will solve your problem, but it is free!

Download iRotate 1.2 - iRotate - a free screen rotation utility - Softpedia

(Apologies if this is the program you mentioned in the original post - this isn't an area I have specific familiarity with)

    Re: Screen orientation problem

Ah yes, this is the same conclusion I came to with a quick google, however this seemed to do the same at the Nvidia control panel, nothing. My only saving grace is that adobe reader lets you change the orientation of documents when you are looking at them so I can still read things in a portrait view I just get rather confused with the mouse not going the right way and everything else perpendicular to how it should be.
