This one just completely File_IO_Error and i've got 3 of these too...

So 6 machines finished a unit and then just sat there for manual intervention till this morning.

I'm running on windows 2003 servers and it seems to hate the client or the client hates it...

Yeah i'd already looked there and can't see any match at all. The file IO error isn't disk related, as they are all on raid 5 arrays that are running without issue. Its a client issue and thats what i'm trying to establish.

I've got this a number of times, on my Vista machines, a couple of reinstalls later, intro fresh folders, and it seems to have started working again. Are you running as an admin?

Re: Diagnose these errors with the SMP client?.

honestly, i find it incredible how hard windows makes simple things

    linux smp installation:

    1) extract fah6 download
    2) run "./fah6 -configonly" in a console window in that folder
    3) run "./fah6 -smp" and go to bed
