    Re: Merging Partitions

should be able to use Diskpart for this.

    Download details: DiskPart.exe

I'd advise taking an image of the NTFS partition first , just in case

EDIT: thats the windows 2000 version , but there is a vista version around.

    Re: Merging Partitions

i've done this before in linux, using the clicky gparted partition editor

first step is to move your partitions around so the empty space is directly "to the right" of the partition you want to merge - increasing the ntfs partition afterwards is child's play

    Re: Merging Partitions

When I tried to do diskpart - it came back with the fact the partition is at its max size

    Re: Merging Partitions

Maybe I'm missing something here but...

Start --> Right click on Computer, choose Manage --> Disk Management --> Right click on primary partition, choose Extend Volume --> Extend to max size.

That only works if you have dynamic discs

    Re: Merging Partitions

I'm not sure, but you might be able to merge them with Vista disk management tools if you boot with a Vista install disk... I'd back up that partition first, though, just in case...

    That, or buy PartitionMagic...
