    Print Preview with Firefox problems

    Hello,

Dont know if anyone else has this problem..

When print previewing a webpage, e.g. this forum, firefox's preview clips off some of the text from the side. I have mirrored the settings with that of IE7 and IE7 has no problem. It actually does a better job and the "shrink to fit" works whereas the firefox's one doest seem to do anything.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

    Firefox :
    IE7 :

Both with the same settings, but you see how IE displays the page better.

Re: Print Preview with Firefox problems

It's hard to make out what's going on in the screenshots, they are a bit too small, can you enlarge them? I can zoom in but lose all the detail.

The two browsers render things completely differently anyway, so you'd expect the respective print preview functions to operate differently, but both should work....I get the exact opposite to you, same settings, Firefox PP displays fine, IE7 crops the right side vertical lines making the boxes up - however, as soon as I click the "View Full Width" button in IE7 it displays perfectly. Out of interest..

...what's your default browser set to? (Mine's set to Firefox).

...and in Firefox PP page setup what are the margin settings set to by default - are the sides equal?

...and what happens in Firefox PP page setup when you shrink the right side margin?

...and what's the final print job like in Firefox?

Re: Print Preview with Firefox problems

Well first off, that's pretty much what I get in Firefox, you aren't actually losing any words on the right side, it's just presented differently.

So are you saying the final print job in Firefox is wrong?

Re: Print Preview with Firefox problems

Is that on every print job, with any other page?

Re: Print Preview with Firefox problems

Can only think of the obvious options tbh...

Try it with Print Background ticked (page setup).

    Play about with scale.

Reinstall Firefox 2.0.0.11 (backing everything up, deleteing Firefox application data, reinstalling).
