    Vista64 - Internet Security

    Hey guys

Just in the process of sorting out all the applications for Vista 64 and I've discovered that my prefered choice of Internet security, ZoneAlarm, doesn't run on Vista 64bit. I've also tried Karpasky (or however it's spelt!) and found it massively invasive, to the point where i need to click 20 times to approve one program.

Of course, do I even need Internet security? I do play a lot of World of Warcraft (so whatever program needs to be easy to configure for getting the ports open for the application and downloader) and certain sites I visit have been dodgy to the point of triggering the security program, so I think that I need something to keep an eye on things

    any suggestion

    Re: Vista64 - Internet Security

I'm currently using Comodo Firewall Pro v3 on a Vista 64 Business with Comodo BOClean.
So far, no problems with either product and they leave a small footprint.
And the best bit......they are FREE!!!

Also using, Eset SysInspector beta, which gives a more detailed listing of all running processes, network connections and more about what is happening with your pc.

    I got these files from 64bit - x64 - Home.

    Hope this helps!

    Re: Vista64 - Internet Security

That Comodo Firewall Pro looks good! After shelling out for two programs over the last two days, I don't fancy paying for a third right now (though I am trying to get my money back on one as they didn't advertised specfically they didn't work on Vista 64bit!!)

    Re: Vista64 - Internet Security

Glad you liked the Comodo firewall!!

I also use Avira AntiVirĀ® PersonalEdition Classic.
You will get an annoying pop-up window from time-to-time to buy the premium product.
I read in PCPro magazine, you can turn off the pop-up window by using group policy.

The only downside is that it does not contain a anti-spam feature.
I guess you could use the AVG Anti-virus product purely for scanning incoming emails.

    Hope this helps!
