Anyone know of a decent codec pack other then the kazaa mega codec pack?

You should really avoid codec packs in their entirety. If all you want is playback of a variety of formats, install ffdshow, as it contains just the filters required for loads of audio/video formats. Either that, or use VLC as your media player which has support for all the codecs built in.

Personally, I'd use Ffdshow plus Media Player Classic.

another vote for ffdshow - but use the recent builds (google for "ffdshow tryouts"), not the obsolete stable version

ffdshow is a directshow filter based on the open-source ffmpeg project, which supports hundreds of codecs (most transcoding apps like psp video 9 use code from ffmpeg)

Another MPC / ffdshow ..don't really need much else. Usually end up getting ffdshow from afterdawn or tryouts.

Don't use codec packs, you never know what is hidden in there. As an example, you don't get a lot of support from the MediaPortal forums if you have codec packs installed as they can seriously screw up your directshow filters.

As well as ffdshow, RealAlternative and QTAlternative are good things.

best codec pack ever. has all those nice options like to hide the taskbar icons for the codecs when you load a video etc. should definately try this out.

CCCP is good - does anyone know if FFDShow is now DEP friendly? Haven't updated in a while and i'm sure it's causing DEP errors with media center.
