    Firefox wiping settings?

Opened up FF today, to be greeted by a Skype promotion. Cheeky blighters I thought to myself, captive audience and all that. Then tried to access my bookmarks and they're all gone. WTF!?

Anyone else had the skype promotion? Or lost their bookmarks? Or have any idea why it's happening to me?

    Re: Firefox wiping settings?

I've had bookmarks going walkies recently, happened twice in fact, Firefox does brain fart occasionally. Just go and retrieve them in back ups and adblock should cover your ass regarding unwanted garbage.

Edit: bookmark backups in profiles directory / app data.

    Re: Firefox wiping settings?

I backup my bookmarks semi regularly, but it's obviously less recent than anything FF might have. Where do you say you find the backup? I haven't got a application data sub directory of the profiles directory

Does bookmarks, cache, profile, history & extensions too. Does the same with Thunderbird.
