Windows XP Install Questions
Hello,
I have a laptop that I would like to put a fresh install of XP onto and then sell. The built in DVD drive doesn't work any more and I cannot seem to boot from a USB CD Rom drive. The HDD is NTFS formatted and partitioned into two logical drives, C drive is 10Gb and is for the OS, and D drive is for files and is about 65Gb. I dont have a floppy drive.
Is there any way that I can install from the HDD? I could convert D drive to FAT and copy windows CD to that, then format C drive and install from D? is this possible?
Unless something is garunteed to work I'll just leave it as if something goes wrong I cant reinstall from CD.....
Re: Windows XP Install Questions
Does the laptop have a floppy drive? If so you should be able to boot and do a network install
Re: Windows XP Install Questions
Nope, no floppy drive unfortunately. And no Windows 2000/Server 2003 either so network boot doesn't seem possible....
