    Vista/Photoshop problems, help plz

No idea where to put this so it's in here.

Photoshop freezes, Black screen flash, BSOD flash, reboots

It appears to be happening with my tablet in Photoshop.

Photoshop either freezes, crashes or the screen just flashes up a BSOD, in milliseconds so i have NO chance of reading it, and then the PC reboots. Any one know a way of finding what that BSOD says that would help.

I ran a virus check, nothing, i ran spybot and cleaned all the crap it found. Did it again.

So i un-installed my tablet drivers, and re-installed them from Wacom's site.

Same thing happens with ym tablet, yet if i use my MOUSE to paint with it's fine, i go to use the tablet and it does it again, my tablet/vista/drivers have an issue and i need help.

Seriously Vista is a bitch, might get SP1 and see if that fixes any of the problems i get, if not ill send a e-mail to M$ tell em to get their fingers out from where the sun don't shine and sort it out I payed good hard cash for this and it's, useless.

Do the wacom drivers for your tablet support vista? They should do, they've had over a year to get it right.

Does vista have a compatabilty mode? I know it's not really for drivers, but if you could try installing in xp compatability mode and see what happens, you won't have lost anything.

I feel for you, can't even think of using PS without a tablet anymore, just feels so wrong to be using a mouse alone.

Not really helpful but just to add I'm using a Wacom Intuos 2 (A3) with Vista (32 bit Ultimate) with the latest Wacom drivers and with zero issues on CS3...

    Re: Vista/Photoshop problems, help plz

Drivers do support Vista, no idea about compatibility mode.

Another stupid thing vista adds, Auto-reboot... Now how to turn it off.

Im going to give it a try under XP on my laptop in a minute and hope to god it works as it was before.

I had been using it for roughly 1 month on my PC with zero issues. Thinking about it i did remove it from my PC to use on my laptop, but i don't see why that would effect it?

    SOLVED!

Problem solved, someone over at Wacom suggested a plug-in, low and behold photoshop crashed but the PC didnt restart, i went into the event viewer as pointed out by a few other forums to see that one of the Multi-core plug-ins was doing it, removed that, it's all fine so far.

So it appears Photoshop could have issues with Quad cores if that particular plug-in is enabled =|

Erm... the auto reboot was a feature of XP, and you disable it in the same way as you do with XP.

Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings>Startup & Recover Settings>uncheck Automatically Restart under System Failure.

Do that and you'll get the BSOD instead - take note of the error message and post back. But please, less of the Vista FUD as there's plenty of misinformation doing the rounds as it is and it helps nobody.
