    itunes = Spawn Of satan

Well Last Night I ended up having to install Itunes so I could buy the Malcolm middleton Single.

Installed ok bought the song so far so good. Now I dont own an mp3 player so wanted to burn it onto a cd. Put a blank cd in my drive and clicked the burn playlist to cd option.

I got a message saying Cd burner or software not found. Now i have nero installed and I know it works fine.

SO I google the issue and it seems lots of people have the same issue but apple dont seem to want to fix it or dont know how to fix it. Im now stuck with a song that will only work in itunes and no way of getting it on to a cd

Anyone had this issue and resolved it ?

Re: itunes = Spawn Of satan

Convert the .aac file to .wav or .mp3 (google for converters) and then use nero to burn the .wav file to CD.

it'll be .m4p (apple drm), not .aac, surely?

Sorry - yes for some reason I thought .aac was the Apple DRM format (not really an I tunes user so not an issue for me)

However it is possible to convert these (or has been unless Apple have tightened up on it), but to explain further would contravene Hexus poliicy.

Re: itunes = Spawn Of satan

DRM is annoying but i`ve bought DRM tracks before and been able to burn to cd.

Itunes is part of the unholy trinity of software that includes norton and AOL.

    Non iTunes site

    TuneTribe.com | Browse | Chemikal Underground | Malcolm Middleton

EDIT: and they appear to be non-DRM infected MP3s. If thy are like The Phantom Band single, they will be 320KBit too.

This is a shining example of why I will never own an iPod or use iTunes, and why I'll get a Sony Walkman MP3 player and still buy my music on CDs. iTunes is evil, and is more poorly written than Windows Me ever was.

sony players don't force you to use Sony Connect to convert tracks to DRM-ATRAC3 anymore?

Re: itunes = Spawn Of satan

all current sony mp3 players make you use their proprietary 'sonic stage' software - which is just as crappy, resource hungry, drm filled and unnecessary as Itunes.....

if you want rid of all the evil software get a creative player - shows up as a basic storage device - fill it as you wish. Or a sandisk, or a archos, or anything thats not an i-crap or sony proprietary device.

£30 for a 2gig one. Problem is the build quality seams naff, and the battery life is nothing like it used to be, 15 hours ffs I might as well by an apple product.

Re: itunes = Spawn Of satan

The new Sony MP3 players are recognised my MediaPlayer so you can use that for managing your music. Not sure if they are mass storage devices too, but they deffinitely don't require you to use Sonic Stage and ATRAC3

Oh, and i think they are really nice looking devices too. The interface is similar to SonyEricsson phones too, at least what i've seen of them is.
