Lo people.
If yuo've got more that one core, and you want a PC that'll play games properly, this is how I do it.
Start Folding.
Cntrl Alt Del (Task Manager)
Processes tab at the top
Click the CPU column to put the processes in order, so you can see the FahCore_a1.exe processes, which are the actual folding processes (not fah.exe )
Then RIGHT CLICK on one of the FahCore_a1.exe and choose Set Affinity.
Then unclick one of the green ticks in ONE of the cores.
Do the same on ALL your cores, be it 2, 4 or 8 (you lucky dual quad people) ie UNTICK THE SAME CORE NUMBER so that you totally free that one up for gaming. You can see it's doing no work when yuo get it right in the Performance tab of Task Manager
The game will run in that core when you boot it cos XP will sort it.
This needs redoing everytime you restart, UNLESS someone can write me a script to sort it![]()
