Vista + Capitalised Metadata in Music

    Hey everyone,
I wonder if anyone else has noticed this with their copies of Vista: When I try to rename, say, the 'Track Title' or 'Artist' by right clicking on a music file and going into properties, it never seems to save any change to the case of the letters.

For instance, let's say I have a song by Mr XYZ, and currently the 'Artist' is formatted as mr xyz.

If I edit it, and click either 'apply' or 'ok', it does not notice that I have changed the case of the lettering. I am thus forced to delete/edit the name to something like Mr ZXY, save it, then type Mr XYZ for it to notice a change.

I can of course use other tools to do this, but that's rather time consuming when all I want to do is make one slight change. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for replying Hunain. I was using XP before my upgrade, and I didn't have that problem. For me at least, this has occured only on Vista.

Could someone perhaps try and edit the metadata of a file like I have shown above? I'm wondering if it's only my copy of Vista.

I don't know if this is particularly relevant, and maybe it's what Hunain is thinking of, but I had this problem with file names in XP. If I want to capitalise a file name, I have to make some other change first as you do. Basically I end up deleting the (lower case) first letter and then renaming the file a second time and adding the first letter back as a capital. Can't say I tried it with metadata.

I put this down to a Windows XP "thing" - haven't tried file naming in Vista to see if that's fixed. Just thought I'd mention it in case it was what Hunain had in mind, or if looks that up helps you find a solution for the metadata.

Yep, I have to do exactly the same thing as well.

This seems quite a bizarre little bug, I wonder if Microsoft are aware of it?
