    Question Laptop Encryption Enterprise Solution

    Hey all,

We have a request in to encrypt all the laptops hard drives in our organisation. There are only about 150 or so all running xp sp2. Mainly Dell Latitudes.

I haven't had to do anything like this for a few years so not sure what software is out there that is any good.

Whilst I can google as well as anyone, and have found a fe candidates this way, I wandered if anyone has any experiences with any encryption packages good or bad. I would appreciate any info you have.

    Requirements of the software:

    Pre OS level Encryption
    Integrate into Active Directory preferably
    Quick
remote administration via challenge / authentication type method
    Hibernation support
    Centrally manageable
    removable media suppoty

    Thanks in advance.

    Kip

BeCrypt might be worth a look, as is Truecrypt.

SafeBoot. No question. Look at it and you will look no fuurther. The central management is absolutly great. Full Hard-Disk encryption with pre-boot authentication. I have been using for over 6 years..... grown from 14 machines to over 900 in over 30 locations round the world. Central Management, excellent recovery, and delegated admin too, if you wish.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

The only experience of Laptop Encryption systems I've had is safe boot - that was the standard with Barclays Bank.

    Yes it is.

BeCrypt is approved for used by Central and local government (but clearly isn't used widely enough )

Safeboot again, it was used in my last job with about 15,000 laptops.
