why ACT! is not suitable for a domain environment

Because in order to actually be able to use it ( ie launch word etc from it to create documents etc. )

you have to have local power user priv. ( accoridng to their support site. )



I dont want to give my users any privilidges ( they are not rights )

what a cheap a$$ p.o.s CRM package.

no wonder they dont sell it to large companies.

Users should have zero rights. The less they have, the less likely they are to break it.

Though I did have my rights taken away because my HDD failed and the NT Kernel got corrupted and they somehow blamed it on me!

Do you mean Symantec's Act! The customer base software proggie?

I picked up a cheap copy of that at a computer fair, Act! 2000, V5.0.

I've never actually got round to installing it, all my customers details and stuff are all on spreadsheets and Word Documents in Folders.

Keep meaning to install it, maybe one day I will actually do it

yep - this is ACT! 6.0
its a good CRM solution but I dont want to give users poweruser rights
I might set it for someone as a challenge next week
