    MS Office 2007 over-the-top install?

I'vejust ordered MS Office 2007 Enterprise (through the MS Home Use programme) and was wondering if anyone knows if I can do an over-the-top install onto MS Office 2003 Professional? I'd like to avoid having to uninstall Office 2003.

It should be fine just make sure that you make a reliable backup first (esp. emails). It would be a much cleaner install if you uninstalled 2003 before installing 2007, but it should work fine.

i agree with vinnyT as the new features of ms 2007 can be done. it will be safe to uninstall ms 2003 as nothing wrong will happen even though you should create a system restore point in any thing does go wrong. But it should be fine ms 2007 is great and looks fantastic. Have fun!!!

Re: MS Office 2007 over-the-top install?

Well, I received my Office 2007 DVD in the post earlier and have just installed it. In fact, it detected a previous version of Office (Office 2003) and offered me an upgrade option. That was the only button that I had to press for the entire install!

It took about 10 or so minutes to install and i've got the full suite of Office 2007 apps. I had to enter my serial number and then activate Office 2007 on the first launch of an Office app.

Windows Update also installed SP1 for Office 2007. Anyway, everything works fine and all my emails are intact.
