Do you trust vista more now(especially with SP1 coming out) or do you stick with XP.
I went for 64 bit vista as needed 64bit for 4gb of ram to work properly(and gives possibility of upgrading to 8gb ram while it's stupidly cheap).
Vista
XP

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
I'd stick with XP. I've used basically the same set up for 6 years now and the reason is, it works for me, perfectly.
Everything I use is free (notepad++, gimp, launchy, rainlendar etc etc) and I'm beyond the need for fancy stuff like compiz fusion or all the sparkly bits vista has to offer. Security wise I've never ever had a problem with XP so again, it's a case of not needing to change.
Pretty much the same for me. XP works and with SP3 out soon I think XP SP3 is better for me than Vista SP1.
I use Notepad++, Launchy, Paint.NET etc and Vista just hasn't got anything that makes me want it. No idea what I will do for my new PC in the autumn. XP still or Vista?
Fedora. However if and when I come to change the OS on other half's machine, it will probably be to XP 32 bit.

If 32 bit and I were buying OEM along with a machine or components, I'd buy Vista, but use the downgrade rights. If 64-bit, it'd have to be Vista.
Vista 64 for me. Built a brand new system just a couple of months ago with Vista 64 and no compatibility problems so far.
Just one thing that I don't like: Vista Explorer, but that's for another thread!
Vista ultimate (I have it already) but I think Vista takes more beating from people than it deserves...Xp was the same in the first 2 years, now that SP2 has come along, XP has become more acceptable. Anyways VISTA VISTA VISTA

Vista, although I am on Windows XP right now, is purely down to spec's I have used Vista Ultimate 32bit with the RC1 Public Beta of Service Pack 1 for a while before I dropped back to Windows XP for gaming performance on my aging AMD rig.
Where is the none of the above option?
NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, GBA, DS, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3 60gb, XBOX, XBOX 360, Master System, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, PC Engine, Neo Geo CD
I'm thinking about trying out Vista 64...
I've just ordered a new Vista laptop which i will immediately be upgrading to XP
i just hate the way Vista works, makes everything more complicated, hides a load of useful stuff, and i still, to this day, do not know of anything that Vista does better than XP
Well.. it's pretty much the only logical choice if you want a 64bit Windows desktop OS. And it sure as hell has better security. Would be interested to know how it makes everything more complicated, and what useful stuff it hides too.
Actually I tell a lie - I seem to recall that Vista doesn't install Telnet, but I'm not sure how much of a deal breaker that is for most people (and it's easy enough to install)
Anyways, it depends on what you're looking for: if I want to actually get on with some work my lappy has Debian. I've got Vista x64 on there in dual boot for when I need to do Windows stuff at work. At home for the Media Centre and gaming it's Vista all the way. I think if you're splashing money out on a license for an OS at the moment you've got to be crazy to invest in an OS that you won't be able to buy soon, and that goes out of support sooner than another that has the features you need. But that's just my opinion, and we all know what opinions are like...
My Lappie runs Vista Ultimate 32 which I get on with fine, but my new build desktop/gaming PC is going to have XP again - but with 4GB Ram I may well dual boot with Vista later in the year.
