I think it is scheduled for the 1st half of 2008. Not sure is MS have released any firm dates yet.
Hmmm, might leave it then and just do a freshy when its released...
Exactly what I'm doing, going to do a new build soon, but will wait untill sp3 is released. It will save alot of hastle (I hope).

The company I worked for in Australia had only just gone over to XP (No SP at all) when I left in 2006 so I know just how much of a pain SP's can be in a corporate environment.
im not in dire need of a reformat right now and would like to be all squeaky fresh when i do it...
